NCATC Supports Sustainable Manufacturing Summit

NCATC in partnership with NACFAM is supporting the Sustainable Manufacturing Summit which takes place April 29-30 in Chicago. This event will examine the latest developments in sustainable strategies for manufacturers of all sectors. It offers access to the corporate executives and green experts leading the transformation to sustainable and cost-efficient manufacturing.

Vice President Joe Biden, the task force’s chair, made the case at the meeting Friday that green jobs are their entrĂ©e to rebuilding. “One of the primary motivators for doing this in the first place is to try to be able to demonstrate the job growth with the market based caps,” said Tony Kreindler, a spokesman for [the Environmental Defense Fund] EDF. “Quite often in these political debates, it’s these kinds of stories that count.” The EDF study, which comes in the form of an interactive online map, highlights about 1,200 companies in 12 manufacturing states that the group says would grow and create new jobs under a federal cap and trade system. Visitors to the site can search by state or congressional district to find companies manufacturing new energy materials.
